KHS&S completed light gauge metal stud framing, drywall, traditional plaster, themed plaster, vertical themed carved plaster, rockwork and scenic paint for the cheetah habitat and cheetah-inspired roller coaster attraction at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
Containing more than 11,000 square feet of grassland, rock formations and shaded alcoves among Moroccan and ancient Egyptian-themed ride buildings, Cheetah Hunt also includes a 220-foot “run” where the animals illustrate their agility and speed.
KHS&S first created maquettes and models of the attraction’s animal carvings and temple-inspired ruins, then KHS&S craftsmen hand-carved the completed product, all finished with scenic painting, color washes and multiple stains. The more than 10,000 square feet of themed carving was created to resemble the time-and- weather-worn natural habits of the cheetah, where the animals were revered as mystical and their images often stood as guardians to local villages.
