A Waterfront Icon Reimagined with KHS&S Craftsmanship

A picturesque and iconic 24-acres that connects downtown Clearwater to the shores of Clearwater Bay has been recently transformed into Imagine Clearwater, an expansive gathering place for both locals and visitors.  Anchored by BayCare Sound, a boutique amphitheater with traditional and lawn seating, Imagine Clearwater at Coachman Park also features fountains, a family-oriented splashpad, and marine services for the adjacent 126-slip Clearwater Harbor Marina.

KHS&S contributions include a customized rain screen exterior finish system and interior metal framing and drywall for the 4000-seat amphitheater, a dockmaster’s office and two large bathroom areas.

Craftsmen also completed specialty finishes for the amphitheater’s band shell and a complex installation of an interior sound isolation ceiling (often used in libraries and movie theaters) with two layers of drywall and insulation.  A KHS&S-installed exterior structural framing system allowed the attachment of a sound-absorbing metal panel system on the stage, an installation that required exceptional coordination and planning.

For the unique radius of the band shell, KHS&S used a relatively new product for KHS&S installers, StoTherm ci® MVES, a fully engineered EIFS with superior drainage features, thermal performance and durability.

The result is a finished product that will be enjoyed for decades.
