Innovation Village at Florida Atlantic University

Boca Raton, FL

Overview

The $123-million Innovation Village at Florida Atlantic University is a resort-style campus housing project that provides 1,216 beds for upper-division undergraduate and graduate students. The student housing complex combines recreation, residential and retail facilities in a single community to enhance the traditional university experience.

The development, designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, consists of a seven-story building and an eight-story building, together totaling more than 489,000 square feet. The buildings are connected by a courtyard for recreation and public gathering.

SERVICES PROVIDED

KHS&S installed 703 dormitory bathroom pods under a very aggressive timeline dictated by the need to open the project in time for the fall 2011 student class. This included extensive coordination with the MEP trades to ensure consistent and accurate hookup. The project was completed on time, and the bathrooms were noted for their exceptional quality.
