Overview
With stadium seating for 5,200 and a massive 35,000-square-foot “Gatheria” which serves as the congregation’s central meeting and greeting spot, the 440,000-square-foot Idlewild Baptist Church is Florida’s third largest church. A complete children’s wing, adult/youth wing, administrative offices and parking for 3,500 completes the main campus facility.
KHS&S completed the massive project’s interiors and exteriors, including all metal stud framing, more than 1.3 million square feet of drywall, more than 75,000 square feet of decorative ceilings, exterior stucco, exterior ornamental EIFS bands, and cornice and brackets. Additional scopes of work included insulation and 13,000 square feet of mansard trusses.
