Building a Healthier Future for Manatee County, Florida
KHS&S is completing multiple scopes of work for BayCare Hospital Manatee, a $563 million comprehensive acute care facility serving the rapidly growing community of Manatee County. The hospital, BayCare’s 17th in West Central Florida, will include 154 private patient rooms, emergency room, intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit including space to expand as the community continues to grow. KHS&S has consistently demonstrated excellence in medical construction across BayCare Health System’s hospitals and medical centers building a trusted relationship for repeat business.
For BayCare Hospital Manatee, exterior work includes 250,000 square feet of sheathing, more than 200,000 square feet of EIFS and waterproofing. The interior scope covers 1.7 million square feet of drywall hanging and finishing, plus 12,000 square feet of lead board installation in imaging rooms. Given the facility’s size and complexity with little repetitive work, meeting the milestone of exterior dry-in will be critical to allow interior trades to proceed. KHS&S is also managing all scaffolding, with exterior work to be performed up to 100 feet high, requiring extensive coordination with trade partners.
The project broke ground on April 30, 2025 and is expected to be complete in 2028.
