ORLANDO, FL, September 21, 2010 – KHS&S has won two first-place “Eagle” awards in the 2010 Excellence in Construction Awards competition presented by the Central Florida Chapter Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.
KHS&S’ craftsmanship on Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort earned an Eagle in the interior finishes, multifamily housing, $10 - $20 million category. KHS&S won a second Eagle in the interior finishes, institutional, $5 - $10 million category for Orlando International Airport’s BP-369 Airside 1 Rehabilitation and Hurricane Restoration project.
“These awards are indicative of the high quality of work our employees bring to all our projects,” says Michael Cannon, president, KHS&S-East Coast. “We congratulate and thank both the field and office teams who contributed to our receiving this outstanding recognition.”
For Disney’s Bay Lake Tower, KHS&S completed more than 1.5 million linear feet of interior framing and more than 2.4 million square feet of interior gypsum wallboard, with level 4 and 5 finishes. Additional scopes of work included exterior framing, sheathing and vapor barrier.
