Overview
KHS&S completed the interiors and exterior metal framing and sheathing for Universal Health Services, Inc.’s 103,000-square-foot expansion to the Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida.
The $50-million expansion includes 80 new private patient rooms in a three-story structure. Each floor includes an 8-bed ICU step-down unit to complement existing medical-surgical services. The expansion also includes room for expanded cardiology, orthopedic and neurology services.
As part of the interior construction, KHS&S installed 80 prefabricated bathrooms manufactured by Eggrock Modular Solutions. The factory-built bathrooms are manufactured to specific project design specifications and delivered just-in-time to the job site, where they will be hoisted into place and installed.
The expansion was designed and constructed using Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
