A Stunning Award-Winner Completed Four Months Ahead of Schedule

Tampa International Airport is the first in the country to debut Express Curbsides, which allow passengers with carry-on luggage to bypass the ticketing level for streamlined check-in.

Express Curbsides is one of the signature projects of TPA’s Master Plan Phase 2 expansion and renovation to offer a more seamless passenger experience. The project included the addition of eight express curbside lanes, canopy and pedestrian bridge with renovations to the airside and garage where the bridge connected. New electrical and utility buildings were also completed to accommodate airport growth.

KHS&S completed multiple interior and exterior work scopes for this challenging 32-month project. Working night shifts to minimize disruption at the fully operational airport, KHS&S used Lean Construction processes to streamline construction, drive the project forward and help deliver the zero-injury project four months ahead of schedule.
