Overview
For decades, the blue sphere of Planet Hollywood® was one of the more eye-catching and memorable images in the Downtown Disney® Area. KHS&S played a major role when it came time to re-imagine the Hollywood-themed restaurant as part of the Downtown Disney® Area’s transformation into Disney Springs™.
Working as a subcontractor to PCL Construction, KHS&S performed the intricate, detailed construction of interior and exterior walls in the conversion of the restaurant’s blue globe theme to a four-story, Victorian-era, stargazing observatory.
KHS&S completed the project’s 60,000 square feet of interior drywall and 26,000 square feet of exterior renovation in less than a year, meeting all challenges in material deliveries, workforce scheduling and a tight schedule. Even while working on a multi-level scaffolding system, KHS&S had no job site injuries.
Most importantly, the company’s final product met the owner’s and Disney’s high standards for craftsmanship
