MILLWORK ENHANCES UPSCALE HOTEL IN MUSIC CITY

Broadwest is Nashville’s new urban mixed-use community combining office space, high-end condominiums, a luxury hotel and retail space. Anchoring the community is the 237-room, four-star Conrad Nashville hotel. The first 13 floors of the 34-story tower feature the hotel, with the remaining floors home to the elegantly appointed Residences at Broadwest condominiums.

KHS&S is providing all installation for the hotel rooms and common areas. Mirmil Products, a leading architectural millwork company, will customize and prefabricate all materials. Due to long lead times, all surrounding work must be completed before prefabricated elements are delivered to the hotel interior to prevent potential damage to the customized millwork.

First to be installed will be the guest room ceiling paneling and wall trim followed by built-ins. Installation for the 237 hotel rooms includes wardrobe closet, mini bar, headboard and bathroom cabinets made from white oak. In just the guest rooms alone, more than 28,500 square feet of primed ceiling paneling and 94,405 linear feet of primed wood trim are being installed.

Working from top to bottom, the corridors and lobbies will follow, once the guest rooms are complete. The common areas on the lower levels will be installed last.

The first floor of the hotel features the lobby, lounge area and bar, restaurant and restrooms. Millwork installation includes the reception and concierge desks, bar area, wine rack, ice carving station, kitchen counters and prep areas, banquette seating, stair fascia and bathroom vanities. The second and third floors include meeting rooms and pre-function areas, ballroom, business center and fitness center. Installation includes ceiling and wall paneling, crown and base molding, casework, credenzas and vanities in the bathrooms and fitness center. Wall paneling and slatted ceiling paneling, chair and crown molding throughout the first level and second levels will also be installed by KHS&S.

As the company expands its millwork installations, hiring detail-oriented carpenters and craftsmen skilled in the fine art of millwork will continue to be beneficial to KHS&S.
