Hialeah Park Casino Phase II

Hialeah, FL

Overview

KHS&S completed the interior and exterior framing, acoustical ceilings, stucco and EIFS for phase II of the multi-phased expansion and renovation of historic Hialeah Park. The $150-million expansion includes a 300,000 square-foot building addition and renovation of the existing North Grand Stand.  The project includes a two-story lobby, artwork by Greek artist/sculpture Alexandra Tsoukala, more than 800 slot machines and 22 poker tables.

Hialeah Park Race Track, also known as the Miami Jockey Club, is one of the oldest existing recreational facilities in South Florida and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Originally opened in the early 1920s,  the 40-square-block facility became a South Florida icon.  The 1932 construction of a Renaissance Revival clubhouse and addition of lush landscaping stocked with flocks of flamingos, earned it the distinction of being one of the most beautiful racetracks in the world.
