Having collaborated with leading theming companies across Central Florida, Corey Pawlak, Regional Safety Manager, has a passion for the theming industry. During his tenure with a previous employer, he played a crucial role in the Star Wars project, working closely alongside KHS&S’ safety manager to ensure alignment with the General Contractor and Disney’s expectations.
“I collaborated with the Tampa team on Hard Rock and then joined the Orlando division for Star Wars,” said Pawlak, a licensed Associate Safety Professional. “That marked my initial immersion into the world of theming. I realized the fulfillment in this line of work, especially considering these projects as experiences I can share with my family.”
Joining as the Regional Safety Manager in January 2024, Pawlak was drawn to the company’s stellar reputation, impressed by its overarching philosophy and commitment to a robust safety culture. “Our shared values on collaboration are a top priority for me. The mutual buy-in and respect make it much smoother when the team is aligned with common goals supporting both production and field personnel,” said Pawlak.
His professional life involves a dynamic balance between on-site presence, where he arrives before sunrise to meet with clients or job superintendents, and office responsibilities that include reviewing safety data reports and analyzing trends. Pawlak serves on Disney’s invitation-only Contractor Safety Board, a monthly forum bringing together like-minded trade partners to discuss industry trends, successes, and challenges.
A Lakeland native, Pawlak, with an Associate of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University, juggles a busy family life with three children, notably managing his oldest daughter’s travel softball schedule. Living in proximity to his parents and grandparents, in his free time Pawlak enjoys pitching for an amateur wood bat baseball team based in Tampa.
