KHS&S Earns Top Honors in FWCCA Awards of Excellence


KHS&S received three Awards of Excellence, including the coveted Project of the Year, at the annual Florida Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association (FWCCA) Awards of Excellence program. The awards were announced July 26, 2014 at the FWCCA Annual Convention and Tradeshow held in Orlando, Fla.

KHS&S received Project of the Year and Commercial Mega Project Award of Excellence for its work on the exterior re-skin of HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers, Fla.   KHS&S earned Themed Project Award of Excellence for Transformers: The Ride - 3D at Universal Orlando Resort. 

For HealthPark Medical Center, KHS&S provided a complete re-skin on the existing 368-bed, 750,000-square-foot flagship property of the Lee Memorial Health System. The specific scope of work included removing the existing stucco system, completing frame repairs and installing a new Sto system. As part of the project, the project team developed and implemented a customized Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) program, based on national standards, for minimizing infections during the construction process. The project was completed six months ahead of schedule.

For Transformers: The Ride - 3D, KHS&S completed the interiors and exteriors of the 60,000-square-foot ride building, including exterior stucco, framing and ornamental metal and interior metal stud framing, drywall, drywall finishes, soffits and ceilings.
