27-foot artificial wave creation, choreographed water sprays, fog effects and synthetic beaches were strategically designed and built throughout the resort to provide guests the illusion of being underwater. Large columns, aged to resemble ancient ruins, were added to the beaches to complete the realism.
Since Atlantis is a mythical city, KHS&S project designers used only their imaginations to determine the look and feel of the project features. From the conceptual drawings, scale models were developed and used to build the nearly identical finished product.
