At TrizecHahn's Desert Passage, KHS&S constructed more than 350,000 square feet of facades, 225,000 square feet of multi-curved ceiling with sky murals, 75,000 square feet of rockwork, and four water features, some incorporating rain, fog and wind.
KHS&S created extensive mock-ups and more than 800 samples of materials, textures and colors that reflect the richness and ornate detail of desert scenery. Finishes were produced using various types of plasters, GFRC, GFRG shapes, FRP, cementitious panels, wood, metals and ceramic tiles. KHS&S artists then developed multiple combinations of paints and color washes to create aging effects authentic to each project area's true-life environment.
