When the Bellevue First Congregational Church outgrew its original house of worship, they called KHS&S to complete the interiors and exteriors renovation and expansion. The church is now 40,000 square foot, and ascend upwards of 50' high in the chapel.
The building exterior is marked by multiple large scale roof pitches. These prefabbed roof curbs were assembled on the ground and flown into place with a crane onto steep roof decks.
This project features large scale ceiling that ascend toward the front of the church, and is broken up by five light wells that draw the light in from the 50' high roof pitches.
In addition, KHS&S conducted preconstruction value engineering to determine materials and processes to allow the church to be built within budget and on time.
