Bay Lake Tower blends Disney magic with elegant design and premier accommodations in this 15-story building adjacent to the original Contemporary Resort. The ultra-sleek design continues the iconic style of The Contemporary, which was introduced in October 1971.
KHS&S’ scope of work included exterior framing, sheathing and vapor barrier and interior framing, blocking and drywall. During the 18-month project, KHS&S completed work on the project’s 295 villas, the sky bridge leading to original Contemporary Resort, the Top of The World Lounge, a porte-cochere, first-floor lobby and other common areas in the tower.
To complete the project’s exterior, which included framing, sheathing and a Tyvek® StuccoWrap®, craftsmen worked on the largest scaffold ever erected in Florida. The scaffold measured 190 feet high at its highest point and 2,200 linear feet around the entire exterior of the building.
