The exotic abodes and game preserves of Africa are the inspiration for this animal-themed lodge resort. Every element of the six-story resort was conceived to give guests the experience of an African safari. KHS&S Contractors helped turn this 900,000-square-foot structure into a vacation adventure reminiscent of the lodges of Botswana, Mozambique and Kenya by providing authentic African finishes throughout the resort’s interior and exterior. From the Acaraquara logs in the resort’s lobby, to the themed columns in the three restaurants, to the simulated stone accents, KHS&S created an environment that reflects the beauty and allure of Africa while confirming the creativity and excellence of the Central Florida craftsman.
What began as a contract for KHS&S to sculpt 40, 40-foot Acaraquara logs in the resort’s three-story main lobby grew to a $1.1-million contract that included the metal studs, drywall, ceilings and theming in three resort restaurants, sculpted columns in the porte-cochere, sculpted fire bowl in the lobby, and simulated stone throughout the resort’s interiors and exteriors.
