KHS&S Contractors to Expand Internationally through Key Acquisitions

ATECH Group International and ThemeWorks International Group Agree to Operate KHS&S-International Companies to Provide Construction Services throughout the Middle East, China and Pacific Rim

(Anaheim, California, USA – March 3, 2009) KHS&S Contractors, one of the largest interior/exterior contractors in the United States, today announced a preliminary agreement with two international specialty construction companies as part of an expansion strategy that will add seven international locations as well as manufacturing capabilities to the company’s service roster. Principals of Dubai / Bangkok-based ATECH Group International, a recognized provider of construction, design-assist development and art and engineering in the themed attractions industry, and principals of Hong Kong-based ThemeWorks International Group, a leading construction specialist in Asia’s rapidly growing themed entertainment industry, have agreed to operate as KHS&S-International. Details and legal entities are expected to be finalized in the next 60 days. KHS&S-International will establish presences in Dubai, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore. Current projects include Universal Studios Singapore, Ocean Park Hong Kong and several projects in Macau.

“Our strategic vision is to evolve KHS&S into a global construction organization that has the geographic reach, service diversification, organizational structure and human resources in place to excel in a business environment that will change remarkably over the next ten years,” said Dave Suder, president, KHS&S-West Coast. “International expansion is the next logical step to make this vision a reality. Not only will we now be positioned to take advantage of future growth markets, but we will also be capable of providing a higher level of service to our existing clients who build projects worldwide.”

“We look forward to working with KHS&S and are developing an aggressive business development strategy that will allow us to pursue projects in the Middle East, South East Asia, South Africa and throughout the Pacific Rim,” said ATECH Group International’s Roel Kwaspen. Kwaspen will be named KHS&S-International’s general manager. “The opportunities are immense and, by combining our creative talents, project management expertise and international resources, we will create an organization second to none worldwide.”

“Joining forces is smart, strategic and positions us to take advantage of business opportunities throughout this entire part of the world,” said Colin Cheong, president, ThemeWorks International Group. “We are putting in place a strong organization with long-term viability that offers extensive benefits to international clients.” Cheong will head KHS&S-International’s business development efforts throughout China, Asia and Malaysia.

KHS&S-International will focus initially on theme parks, attractions, gaming, resorts and large-scale entertainment projects. The company will offer turnkey solutions for developers and builders, with specific services that include design-assist development, integrated project design, art direction, themed icon fabrication and installation, façade construction, construction management, ride and attraction procurement and cost planning and control. Services will be customized, depending on project need.
