KHS&S presented a high-level performance with its interior framing and plaster skills at the 240,000 square-foot arts center. KHS&S also completed interior drywall and acoustical ceilings and exterior framing and sheathing.
With talent and precision, KHS&S created an elegant balcony in the center's main theatre. KHS&S used well-polished plaster skills to shape the rolling bends of the theatre's three-level balcony. The challenge? Forming convex dips to house the recessed lighting. It presents an elegant, vintage look that's atypical in modern construction.
The wavy look continues in the lobby, where KHS&S created a sweeping undulating ceiling. KHS&S first formed a plywood jig to perfect the dimensions of each radius. Using this as a prototype, they framed the ceiling in steel studs and applied drywall to create the rolling ceiling. KHS&S finished the lobby with fine detail work on its grand staircase.
The final result is worthy of a standing ovation.
