From the intricacy of the interior compound radius wall with arches to the installation of 700 linear feet of exterior stucco chair rail, the construction of Annunciation Catholic Church is a testament to KHS&S' attention to detail and quality.
In order to maintain the compound radius while constructing the arches, KHS&S craftsmen designed and utilized a custom pitch-arm jig crafted out of framing studs. The jig was placed between the wall columns, acting as a template, allowing craftsmen to create the arch while, at the same time, maintaining the radius of the wall.
Creation of the exterior stucco chair rail required use of a special mold and a three-step process that allowed the chair rail to conform to its designed shaped and provide the necessary aesthetic effect.
In order to build the project within budget, KHS&S used special foam products to create wood-like beams that adorn the church's 39-foot vaulted ceiling. The result is a project that combines yesteryear's artistry with today's construction efficiency.
