NEWEST TECHNOLOGIES. INNOVATIVE TEAMS.
KHS&S has been an innovative leader in the construction industry for more than 30 years. With the need to continuously improve, the team at KHS&S realizes technology is an opportunity to do so.
KHS&S partnered up with Howick Ltd to custom fabricate roll form machines. The roll form machines are specialized to manufacture cold-formed steel studs with punched holes, customized per projects. KHS&S is expanding the use of the machines to include interior and exterior framed panels. The state-of-the-art equipment will allow KHS&S to take full advantage of prefabrication opportunities.
KHS&S is utilizing an innovative strategy when it comes to laying out projects. Operating a system composed of 2 laser beams, helps mark the “x” at the desired point location for each stud. This system makes laying out complex shapes such as arcs and multi-layered serpentine soffits much easier. Architectural files (floor plans) can now be loaded directly onto a tablet in the field. Locating a point on the floor is as intuitive as tapping the desired intersection or point on the drawing. The lasers are controlled by a wireless tablet.
KHS&S is utilizing technology that creates custom precise drywall assemblies. These assemblies can be shipped pre-assembled and installed on the job site, saving time and job site hassles. With PanelMax, complex shapes and corners can be shipped to the site in a prefabricated assembly. This prefabricated assembly may include framing, finishes or other applied material, depending on the requirements of the project
Operating Data Vaults onsite have become part of KHS&S’ day-to-day activities. Furthermore, the team at KHS&S has customized these Data Vaults to truly create mobile workstations for project management. Synced with tablets in the field, the Data Vault runs in real-time providing the most current information to project team supervision.
KHS&S first used a total station in 2011 to automate the layout process. After multiple projects and considerate improvements, the technology and teams have aligned to standardize data driven laser layouts.
KHS&S utilizes the most up-to-date BIM and 3D modeling technologies to further enhance the design-assist effort. These include:
