KHS&S’ first project as exclusive installer for factory-built bathrooms by Eggrock is underway at Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where 700 bathrooms will be installed in a three-month period at two dormitories at FAU’s Innovation Village.
Built with just-in-time production at Eggrock’s Littleton, MA plant, the bathrooms arrive at the FAU construction site complete with drywall, tile, sink, toilet, light fixtures and towel racks. The production, shipment, arrival and floor-by-floor installation sequencing are factored into pre-construction planning and scheduled before exterior walls are erected.
KHS&S hoists the units, ranging in size from 5.5 by 9 feet to 9 by 7.5 feet, by crane to their assigned locations. Bathrooms are then rolled into place and hooked into the building's wiring and plumbing system.
